Late Goal Earns Spartans Conference Victory

Two men's soccer players that each scored a goal in the win.

After an incredibly tough pre-conference schedule the MiraCosta men's soccer team took what they learned and used it in their 2-1 win against San Diego City College. The victory against the knights improves the Spartans to 1-1 in conference.

Eddie Franco, sophomore forward, started the attack early for the Spartans with an unassisted goal in the 4th minute. MiraCosta held on to the 1-0 lead for 59 minutes until the Knights evened the score in the 63rd minute. Without much time left MiraCosta had a throw in opportunity that led to a goal by sophomore Rafael Carmeiro.  Carmeiro scored the game winning goal assisted by Jacob Harris.

MiraCosta will take the momentum from the win into their next conference contest on Tuesday against Imperial Valley College. The game is at MiraCosta College (Oceanside Campus) and will kickoff at 4PM.
