Men's Basketball Drops Game at Mt. San Jacinto College

Team picture.

MiraCosta had a tall task heading into their game against Mt. San Jacinto, a top ranked team in the state.  It was all that much more of a challenge without sophomore forward Andrew Thomton (injury) and freshman forward Thomas Donai (sickness).  Short-handed the Spartans battled and had a 42-41 halftime lead.  Unfortunately the Eagles exploded for 62 points in the second half and sent the Spartans home empty handed. The final score was 103-82. With the loss MiraCosta drops to 11-13 overall and 2-4 in conference play.

The Spartans shot a high percentage from the freethrow line, missing just three on the night, 24-27.  Contrastly, the team shot a horrid 4-25 from behind the three point line.  Devyian Roberson led the way scoring 24 points on the night. Dirk Helaire Jr added 19 points and 12 rebounds.  Off the bench Connor Ramirez added 11 points.

MiraCosta will next be in action on Wednesday at home against College of the Desert.  Tip off is at 7PM.
