Any time MiraCosta College and Palomar College play it's a big game. Wednesday's Spirit Night  game that was played in front of an energized crowd was not just a normal PCAC conference match up, it also was a rivalry game that brought with it potential playoff implications. The game was close for forty minutes, and despite trailing for the majority of the game, the MiraCosta Spartans came out victorious by a final score of 88-80.

The Spartans were led in scoring by freshman guard Josh Pilling with 22 points.  Support for Pilling came in the form of four other Spartans in double digit scoring, Anthony Hubbard (15), Daymarcco Green (14), Billy Brown (14) and Brett Hollins (14). Hollins also contributed seven rebounds.

Trailing late in the game MiraCosta found some big plays from Brown, Pilling and Hollins that helped them take the lead and finish the game on top.  The Spartans improve to 13-15 overall and 3-6 in one of the most competitive conferences in the state.  They will travel to Miramar College on Friday for a 3PM tip off with the intent to strengthen their argument for a playoff spot in the CCCAA State Playoffs which would start next week.
