PILLING LEADS SPARTANS IN BIG WIN

Men's Basketball team in a huddle cheering before the game.

In their first Pacific Coast Athletic Conference - North division game the MiraCosta men's basketball team won convincingly.  Weeks after losing their top two scorers, the Spartans have found new answers to how to put the ball in the basket.  Tonight the answer was Freshman guard Josh Pilling.  Pilling led all scorers with 30 points including three 3-point shots. Other standout Spartans included Daymarcco Green who finished with 17 points and 12 assists and Kenan Brooks who finished with a season high of 14 points.

Despite a slow start in the game the Spartans used a 23-0 run in the first half to take the lead and never look back.  MiraCosta shot 61% from the floor including many lay ups and open shots in transition.

The Spartans are next in action on Wednesday January 18th at San Bernardino to take on one of the top teams in the state.  The tip off is 7pm.
