MEN'S BASKETBALL BREAKS 100 AND WINS FOURTH IN A ROW

In a single non-conference game the Spartans travelled to Torrance, California to play against the 6-1 Warriors of El Camino College.  MiraCosta entered the game with a 6-6 record and a three game win streak. The Warriors entered the game as the 3rd highest scoring team in the state, averaging an impressive 86.4 points per game.  The pace of the game was quite fast with both teams scoring more than 100 points, however the Spartans held on for a 108-106 victory, securing the win with a three point shot at the buzzer by Brett Hollins.

The Spartans were led in scoring by hard-working sophomore Billy Brown who earned a career high 27 points on 9-11 shooting.  Brown also connected of 9-14 free throws and added seven rebounds. MiraCosta had six players in double digit scoring include Brown, Austin Bryant (18), Brady Twombly (18), Hollins (17), Daymarcco Green (15) and Josh Pilling (11).

With the win the Spartans improve their record to 7-6 and extend their win streak to four games. MiraCosta is next in action at the Saddleback tournament on Thursday December 15th against Long Beach City at 5pm.
